Students looking for community, conversation and a more inclusive school environment can find a place to connect through HPC’s GSA.
High Point Central’s Gay-Straight Alliance, or GSA, is inviting students to join the club for the 2026–27 school year. The organization brings together LGBTQ+ students and supportive allies with the goal of creating a welcoming environment where students can connect, learn from one another and contribute to an inclusive school community.
The GSA provides students with an opportunity to meet people with different experiences and perspectives while building connections with others who want to support an accepting school environment.
Students do not have to identify as LGBTQ+ to participate. Straight, cisgender and other supportive allies are welcome to join.
Students interested in becoming members should sign up by October 7, 2026, using their preferred name. Sign-up sheets are available in Rooms 322, 219, 311 and 205, as well as on the bulletin board near the cafeteria.
The GSA will meet every other Wednesday after school from 4:30–5 p.m., with its first meeting scheduled for October 14.
The club asks members to help maintain an environment based on respect, kindness and inclusion. Harassment or disrespectful, homophobic or transphobic behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the club or school disciplinary consequences, as appropriate.
Students with questions about the GSA can speak with Ms. Kelley in Room 322.
